Justice Court
Justice Court hears misdemeanor criminal cases as well as civil actions under $3,500.00. They conduct preliminary hearings. Appeals may be taken to circuit or chancery court. Justice Court judges have the power to set bonds and issue search warrants as well as arrest warrants.
Court Dates
- Civil Court is the first and third Tuesday of each month.
- Criminal Court is the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

A constable’s general duties are “to keep and preserve the peace within the county, by faithfully aiding and assisting in executing the criminal laws of the state.” In addition, they serve civil summons or warrants.
